Oral microbiome test
A simple saliva test that maps the bacteria in your mouth. Insight into your risk of gum disease, cavities and inflammation, with personalised prevention advice.

What is an oral microbiome test?
Your saliva contains hundreds of bacterial species that together form your oral microbiome. From a single sample we analyse over 500 bacterial strains, 10 genetic variants and inflammatory markers. The analysis shows which bacteria are present in your mouth, whether there is an increased risk of gum disease, cavities or bad breath, and which adjustments to your oral care or diet will have the greatest impact.

Who is the test for?
For anyone wanting preventive insight into their oral health. Especially valuable if you regularly experience bleeding gums, a sensitive mouth, recurring cavities or bad breath. Also useful for those with a hereditary predisposition, anyone considering orthodontic treatment, or wanting to optimise their oral care with personalised recommendations.
Step by step
- Step 1
Sample
During a short appointment we take a saliva sample. Collection is painless and takes just a few minutes. Please don't eat, drink or brush shortly before the appointment.
- Step 2
Analysis
The sample is sent to the laboratory. There your full oral microbiome is mapped, including bacterial profile, genetic variants and inflammatory levels.
- Step 3
Discussion
After approximately four weeks the results are ready. In a follow-up appointment we walk through the report step by step and discuss what the outcomes mean for your situation.
- Step 4
Personalised advice
You receive a tailored plan: which products suit your mouth, dietary recommendations and how often a dental hygiene check is advisable. A retest after six months is possible.

What does the test cost?
The oral microbiome test costs €450, including sample collection, laboratory analysis and an extensive follow-up consultation with personalised advice. A retest after six months is offered at a lower rate.
